Why do you sponsor AIMS Conferences?

AIMS Conferences are a terrific opportunity to catch up with mining surveyors and find out what the most topical issues are in the field each year and how we can provide the right solutions to help them get their jobs done safely and efficiently.

How long have you sponsored the yearly conferences?

Maptek has been involved with sponsoring the AIMS Conference for more than 10 years and we see it as a key event on our annual calendar.

How has your previous sponsorship benefitted the delegates?

By supporting AIMS Conferences with sponsorship it helps make the events possible and give attendees a chance to get together and see the latest in mining technology available from Maptek. One on one time building relationships with Maptek experts allows delegates to get the best possible advice when searching for the right solution to their mining challenges.

How has your previous sponsorship benefitted your company in spreading the word on your products and services?

The opportunity to meet with surveyors and get to know them and their day to day challenges is one of the great benefits of AIMS Conferences. It gives us the opportunity to provide solutions to the challenges in the field and guides us in our future product development.

What does your company have to offer delegates at this year’s conference?

This year Maptek Senior Technical Sales Specialist Jordan Herrmann will provide a live demonstration of how automated workflows improve day to day data processing in the upcoming PointStudio 8. Attendees will be able to see how enhancements to both software and hardware combine to streamline surveying. They will also find out more about our latest generation of Maptek 3D laser scanners, including the new SR3 underground scanner.

What is something new and exciting that you will be highlighting at the conference?

Delegates can find out about the upcoming release of Maptek™  PointStudio™. PointStudio 8 is the logical progression of the popular Maptek™ I-Site™ Studio software and provides a new generation 3D platform for modelling, analysis and reporting. PointStudio 8 features the latest software functionality in a ribbon interface. At the same time, customers will install the Maptek Workbench, which enhances interaction with data and improves access to other Maptek applications.  The Workbench allows access to the Workflow Editor for building interactive command sequences. PointStudio users can link components to data to easily run automations in context. For example an automated registration workflow which can be tailored to incorporate scan import and filtering, and multiple registration steps to provide a registered point cloud ready for processing.
